Nathan Hilkert – nathan@holycrossathens.com

Pastor

Pastor Nathan spent his early life all over the world as the son of an Army officer, but has been proud to call Georgia home since 1988. He graduated with a B.A. in English from Berry College, and studied Creative Writing at Hollins College in Virginia. After working for The Athens Banner Herald and teaching English at Clayton State College, he earned an Master of Divinity at Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, and was ordained a pastor in 2008. Pastor Nathan has been at Holy Cross since 2017. He is married to Heidi, an elementary school teacher, and they are proud parents of Stella, Lucy, Penny and Samuel. Pastor Nathan loves enjoying all the wonderful things that Athens offers (especially our music scene and UGA football), exploring the trails and rivers of North Georgia, and brewing beer. Above all else, Pastor Nathan loves to be able to preach, administer the sacraments, and lead God’s people. He would love to talk to you about all the great things God has done, is doing, and promises yet to do through Jesus, the savior of the world.

Amanda Sacchitello— amanda@holycrossathens.com

Director of Music

Amanda Sacchitello received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music, Latin, and Classical Culture from the University of Georgia in 2009. In 2011, she received a Masters of Music Performance degree with a focus on Piano Pedagogy from the University of Georgia. She has been teaching independently since 2008, and enjoys sharing her love of piano and music with all ages. Amanda was president of the UGA Collegiate Music Teachers National Association Chapter 2009-2011, Secretary of the Athens Music Teachers Association 2019-Present, and is a member of the Music Teachers National Association, and Georgia Music Teachers Association. In 2010, she founded K.E.Y.S., a music camp offering music and piano experience for young students. In addition to teaching, Amanda has collaboratively performed and taught in Georgia, New York, and Missouri. She is married to Tony, a middle school math teacher, and is mom to their son, Theo. Amanda has served Holy Cross since 2018.

Jonathan Warren - jonathan@holycrossathens.com

Children & Youth Director

Jonathan often defines youth ministry as “Sharing life in the Father, Son and Spirit with and for children, youth and their families” Jonathan has been sharing in this life and love for twenty years serving churches in Kentucky, Colorado, Minnesota and now at Holy Cross. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Youth ministry at Colorado Christian University in 2010 and a Masters of Arts in Children, Youth and Family at Luther Seminary in 2016. In addition to youth ministry, Jonathan has experience working in childcare, after-school programs and summer day camps. His joy in faith formation is seeing young people know and embrace who they are in Christ. A big horse lover from southeastern Kentucky that enjoys playing sports, card games, farming, and riding four wheelers in the mountains.

Administrative Assistant

Kim, is a native Athenian. She attended Athens Christian School and graduated from Clarke Central High School. She has an Associate in Business degree from Gainesville College. When not having an awesome day at Holy Cross, she enjoys reading multiple books at one time.  She enjoys Facebook (feel free to friend her). Her lifelong dream is to live above a pub/bookstore in coastal Europe.
