During the six weeks before Easter, a season called Lent, special midweek services help worshippers to go deeper in their relationship with God and contemplate God's amazing Grace. They also dedicate themselves to spiritual practices such as fasting, prayer studying Scripture, giving alms to the needy, and doing acts of kindness and charity.During the four weeks before Christmas, a season called Advent, special midweek worship services assist believers in preparing for the birth of the Christ child by focusing on the central characters and key themes of the Christmas story.
